SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER  HAMPSTEAD NORREYS  10AM - 5.30PM

Waste not, want not

GreenFest is an opportunity to bring unwanted goods that can have a new home or that can be repurposed. Look out for our bins . . .
Picture
TIE BIN
Remember the days when ties were essential? Now they just clutter up your wardrobe so bring them to GreenFest. Our talented sewers will give them a new life as a bag, or a glasses case, or ... ???
Picture
LEGO BIN
Did you know . . . there are 86 Lego bricks for each person on earth and over 400 billion Lego bricks in the world? Bring unwanted Lego to GreenFest and we will pass them to a charity for children with autism.
Picture
BRA BIN
An estimate of the proportion of women who wear the wrong size bra is as high as 60% but what to do with good-quality bras that don't fit? Bring them to GreenFest of course! We will pass them to charities on your behalf.

JEWELLERY BIN
OK, you may not have a spare tiara hanging around the place but have a look at your jewellery and bring unwanted items to GreenFest. Again, these will be given to a good cause.

PEN BIN
Used pens. felt tip pens and highlighters are waste plastic that the world can do without. GreenFest will recycle these on your behalf. No pencils please!
Picture
PHONE BIN
Many people treat their phones as disposables - one estimate is that the average life of a mobile phone is only 2 years. Bring your unwanted phones to GreenFest where they can be donated and given a new life.
Picture
CDs BIN
Your chance to have a clear out and pass on those CDs you never listen to. Put them in the CD bin and we will make sure they get to a local charity.

INFLATABLES BIN
Old plastic paddling pools? Pool toys? Air mattresses? Anything inflatable? These can be turned into the most amazing bags so bring them to GreenFest and we will pass them on to the clever people at Wyatt and Jack.

Electrical Repair Café 2019

Session Times:  10.00-11.30 & 13.00-15.30         Venue: Village Hall
Newbury and District Hackspace will be running an electrical repair cafe for small electrical appliances. As a guide it needs to be small enough for one person to carry. So, Bring your broken household items along, get them repaired for free and learn how to repair a similar problem in the future.

Bring your items along 30 minutes before the end of each morning or afternoon session at the very latest to ensure there is enough time to get them repaired.

NAD Hackspace is hoping to set up a regular repair cafe in Newbury so do come along and find out more about this and the other exciting workshops they have running from their premises.

Please note: microwave ovens and CRT TVs are not accepted due to high voltages.
