Have fun building with Ecobricks
GreenFest is delighted to host one of the first UK ecobricking building experiences, using ecobricks to create different 3D-shapes. It's like Lego but with a difference! Tables, chairs, benches - use your imagination!
An ecobrick is a PET bottle packed solid with clean and dry used plastic. Ecobricks are made manually to a set density and are so strong they can be used as reusable building blocks. They keep plastic from degrading into toxins and microplastics, and help to deepen our awareness of waste plastic.
Ecobricks can be put to short-term use in modular units and we are delighted that Lucie Mann will be bringing modules to GreenFest to show what can be made. Join us as we arrange and rearrange the modules to make tables, chairs, benches, and anything else you can think of! We will film the construction during the day to make a speeded video - please let us the camera operators know if you do not wish to be filmed. |
Making an ecobrick is hard work but worthwhile. It is really important to understand what to do and how to do it. www.ecobricks.org/ has all the information you need to start ecobricking. Experts can steer you through the process of construction and what to do with the bricks once complete.
