When it comes to food, we know that what we consume, where it's from and how it's packaged have a major impact on our societies and the planet. This is why when we decided to partner with food businesses to serve at GreenFest we made sure they were local businesses, that used local ingredients where possible or alternatively offered a range of vegetarian or vegan options. Furthermore, we ensured that all our partners would serve their food in compostable or sustainable packaging (cutting down on the plastic!).
Side note: Our last GreenFest in 2019 produced only 2 garbage bags of rubbish that was collected from the Dean and our goal this year is to achieve the same - if not less! ![]()

FINK STREET FOOD - on the Dean Meadow
FINK serves a range of Middle Eastern street food, freshly cooked for you, such as falafel wraps, chicken shawarma, vegan falafel burgers, colourful mezze boxes and indulgent loaded fries. Not only is their food delicious, using local suppliers such as Vicars Game and Fishers fruit and veg, but half of their profits is used to support mental health charities, projects and initiatives. Waste food is donated to Newbury Soup Kitchen, and all waste cooking oil is turned into biodiesel. |

My Apple Juice - on the Orchard Meadow, by Forest School
My Apple Juice provides a pressing service to turn your apples into pure apple juice. At GreenFest, you'll have the chance to get hands-on with pressing the apples into juice yourself, as you learn about the process and the benefits of turning your garden crop into a tasty drink. Session times for pressing can be found here. Alternatively, you can simply buy a cup of freshly pressed apple juice, made from locally grown apples and be done with it! |
